Assault on Cayo Perico. Detailed guide

How to Launch “Assault on Cayo Perico”

In GTA Online, access the menu by pressing the “ESC” key. Now, press the buttons as indicated below.

Once you select the desired adversary mode, the search for players will commence.

Key Information

• Number of Players: 4 to 30 players;
• 2 Teams: Defenders and Attackers;
• Defenders guard radars and a computer with information, while Attackers attempt to destroy the radars and steal the information;
• After the adversary mode concludes, it restarts, and the teams automatically switch positions. Attackers become Defenders, and Defenders become Attackers.

There are 4 stages to the adversary mode:

Each stage has a specific duration. Defenders win if time runs out. Here are the stages:

• Airport (Radars) – 10 minutes;
• North Dock (Radars) – +5 minutes to remaining time;
• Main Dock (Radars) – +5 minutes to remaining time;
• Compound (Computer) – +5 minutes to remaining time.

Weapon Loadout Before Starting

An identical weapon loadout is available for each side:

• Assault weapon (Assault Rifle);
• Sniper (Sniper Rifle);
• Support (Machine Gun).

Team “Defenders”

The defenders’ objective is to prevent the attackers from destroying the radars and reaching the computer (laptop). Attackers will attempt to hack the radars to destroy them using the orbital strike. Defenders need to hold out for a specific amount of time for each stage to secure victory.

After the destruction of the first and second radars at the airport, attackers will head towards radars 3 and 4 at the North Dock. Once attackers destroy these, they will proceed to the Main Dock to destroy radars 4 and 5. After all radars are destroyed, the determined attackers will head to the basement of the compound where the laptop with information is located.

The computer is the final point in this adversary. If attackers download the information, you lose.

During the information download process, defenders can interrupt the download.

Defenders emerge victorious by holding out for a specific amount of time (timer).

Defenders’ Spawn Points

The defenders’ team initially spawns on bikes at the North Dock, 30 seconds’ ride from the first stage (the runway).

If a defender dies, they respawn after 15 seconds at 1 of 3 spawn points.

• North Dock – during the defense of the airport;
• Main Dock – during the defense of the North Dock;
• El Rubio’s Compound – during the defense of the Main Dock.

Team “Attackers”

The attackers’ objective is to reach the basement computer in El Rubio’s Compound and download data from it. To achieve this, they need to navigate through 3 zones with radars spread across Cayo Perico Island.

To destroy a radar using an orbital strike, attackers need to reach it and hack it. While hacking, you’ll remain stationary for a brief period, making you an easy target for defenders. Coordinate with your team members to protect you during hacking and use vehicles as cover against enemy fire.

Once you successfully download the data from the computer in the basement of the compound, the mission will be completed, and the attackers’ team will emerge victorious.

Attackers’ Spawn Points

Initially, the attackers’ team spawns in a flying Alkonost, from which they need to parachute.

If an attacker dies, they randomly respawn after 15 seconds at 1 of 3 spawn points:

• Alkonost Aircraft (you can land wherever convenient);
• Ground Base (ammo resupply is available);
• Vetir Military Truck (mobile spawn point; you can approach radars, and the entire team will spawn nearby).

How to Hack Radars?

With the introduction of the “Assault on Cayo Perico” adversary mode, a new hacking mechanism was introduced. The hacking process is quite straightforward and engaging.

Approach a radar, and the hacking sequence will initiate, progressing automatically. You need to wait for the loading bar to fill completely. However, you can expedite this process by pressing specific keys as indicated on the screen.

After hacking, an orbital strike targets the radar, which will be destroyed shortly. The developers designed a new hacking mechanism that doesn’t interrupt gameplay immersion.

Computer Hacking

Computer hacking follows the same principle as radar hacking. Press specific keys to accelerate the information download process.

The data download process takes 1.5 minutes. Defend the computer to prevent opponents from interrupting the download.

Additional Tasks

In addition to the main objective, you need to complete additional tasks, which can be accessed by pressing the “E” key. The more tasks you complete, the higher the monetary reward at the end of the adversary mode.

Additional tasks are always different and appear randomly. However, the style of tasks depends on the team you’re in. For instance, attackers might encounter tasks such as “Kill 12 players,” “Kill 3 players with a parachute,” “Achieve 7 headshots,” and similar tasks. Defenders’ tasks are logically opposite.

There are 3 types of additional tasks:

• Personal (2 tasks) +$5000 each;
• Team (2 tasks) +$7500 each;
• Secret tasks.

Personal additional tasks are completed by a specific player. The completion of team tasks depends on the overall success of the entire team. Secret tasks appear only if you are in close proximity. In this case, the mini-map will display a question mark symbol indicating a secret weapon cache. You need to eliminate someone using this secret weapon.

Island Loot

At each stage, there are 2 points with additional loot. These locations are the same as during the Cayo Perico heist. Attackers must collect the loot, while defenders must prevent it from being stolen.

The more loot attackers collect, the more money they will receive upon completing the adversary mode. Defenders will receive more money if they protect a greater number of loot tables.

Attackers, gather the loot until the end of the stage (destruction of radars), otherwise the loot will disappear from the tables. If you are killed while collecting loot, the loot you managed to collect will remain with you.

Rewards for “Assault on Cayo Perico”

The reward for the adversary mode is around $45,000. You will receive $5,000 for each personal additional task. Each team task will provide you with an additional $7,500.
